Important Graduation Day Information

Graduates:

  • Caps and gowns must be free of messages/decoration

  • Do not bring cell phones, noisemakers, beach balls, etc. to graduation. Anyone violating this policy will be removed from the ceremony.

  • Follow the Graduation Day dress code:

               Male Graduates
White or light dress shirt with tie
Khaki or dark slacks (no shorts)
Dress shoes (no boots or sandals)
                 No sneakers, flip-flops, or T-Shirts

              Female Graduates
Light dress or top/ slacks under gown
                 Dress shoes
                 No sneakers, flip-flops, or T-Shirts

Families:

  • LHS strongly suggests that parents drop their graduates off at Langley on Wednesday.

  • The bus is only taking the graduates TO the ceremony – they will not be transported back to Langley. If they drove themselves to the school, you will need to go back after the ceremony to get the car.

  • Because they will not have their cell phones with them at DAR, pre-arrange a meeting spot for after the ceremony.

  • Get the street address, directions, and a map from the DAR website: http://www.dar.org

  • Metered street parking is very limited. Additional parking is available at: Colonial Parking, located at 1800 G Street, NW. We recommend reserving a spot in advance: https://www.ecolonial.com/park-with-us/parking-locator/?detail=1&loc=en&id=1057. If there are no spots available at Colonial, try a parking spot reservation app such as Spot Hero.
